Unknown Imperial Crown Badge?

Imperial German crown badge. I had this in a different section until it was
identified as Imperial German by another member. It measures 31mm wide.
The cross is missing from the top. The pin on the back has broken off. Made from
stamped metal. It is hollow.
I am trying to figure out what this was used for? Any help will be appreciated. Thanks

As I mentioned in the previous thread, it seems like it has to be some sort of badge for the Colonial or Marine troops of Imperial Germany. Just not sure when or exactly what it is. I'm sure someone on the forum has seen one before though.

These were also worn on the sleeves of naval officers and members of the Kaiserliches Freiwilliges Automobil-Korps, but I doubt those had this type of pin-back attachment. I would have expected something with bendable prongs.

My guess is that it would be military related, such as an association pin for former navy or See Bataillon members or something in that vein.

This is an "Organization Pin" for a Freikorps Unit "Selbstschutz-Bataillon Meydbreck" as shown on Pg. 64/65, #4419a Handbuck der Abzeichen deutscher Org. 1871-1945 ... listed for 95.DM in 1985/86 edition.
