Gents
general question> When did they use a brass pin to locate the prong bar?
Old gent told me once buckles with a steel pin were,nt W1?
Eric
Hi Eric
I don't know about the brass pin,I have a number of WW1 buckles and none have a brass pin for the prong bar, they are all steel.
I had a read of some of my books on buckles and can't find anything about brass pins,I'll have a better look over the weekend and see if I can come up with something for you, someone else might know for sure.
Also, just a thought, maybe brass is to soft for the prong bar pin?
Best
Spike
