    My new WW1 canteen

Anyone see any concerns with this one?
Marked 1915 and has the cloth cover.
Is this cover more scarce than the other covers?
    Thanks.

Excellent M15. They don't come much better nowadays.
The Germans on occasion also made stahlhelm covers out of the same material late war, but remains controversial for various reasons that escape me.

Was this canvas cover available in 1915?

Rick hard to tell without an ink stamp.
First issue M15's had a compressed wool (or some collectors call it felt) cover similar to the M07 and the gents example in the other thread. My guess its ok and always been with the bottle.
They also used corduroy etc. even papercloth without snaps often tied with a boot lace. Really nice Rick, and still a relatively affordable area of collecting.
