Rstoring an M14 Ersatz steel Prussiina Picklehaube

Hi everybody, my father gave me this helmet as a Christmas present two years ago, I´ve got the original components to restore it, that is the chinstrap and the cockades......



Now my question is do the cockades just slip into position or do I have to unsecure the lateral screws from the inside of the pickle to place the cockades directly against the steel and the secure the screws again...........

The cockades are held onto the Model 91 posts by the ends of the chinstrap.

So I just slip on the cockades and then the chinstrap.......

Haube looks great! And I have to say... that rolltop desk with those antique books looks real impressive!! Like it a lot!

I´m glad you liked it, fortunate for me I was able to keep those books, they belonged to my Great great gradn father and they are form the 1´800´s I think, the engravings in them are out of this world!!!!!
