Cuirassier Lobstertail Helmet given away for WWI Bond Drive

Here is a mint condition Cuirassier helmet that was given away as a premium for buying War Bonds during WWI. I bought this helmet years ago and the woman I bought it from remembered them giving a helmet to everybody who bought a War Bond. The helmet is in like new condition, the chinstrap has brass fittings and there is a single kockard. The helmet is marked HELBING u SACKWITZ 1916. I haven't changed the chinstrap or kockards because I thought it should stay the way it was when it was given away in WWI. There was a sheet of paper folded inside the helmet that was a notice stating that the German helmets were to be given away and it had a picture of German helmets. I will post the notice when I discover it's "safe place."

Your helmet looks great, but these war-bond helmets were often mismatched, as chinstraps, cockades and even front plates came off in these piles and later the helmets were just thrown together as needed.
