Thoughts on these two WW1 bayonets?

Curious as to opinions on each of these:

On the first item this well known seller knows his stuff and if it turns out bad he has a reputation to uphold. I could not look at the photos much due to browser issues but it looked ok from what I saw.

Second one I can't see the pics but be wary of a mint blade. If the condition of the blade does not match the rest of the package it might have been cleaned up to give it that mint look.

Are sawback 98/05's, generally speaking, worth that much more than the standard blades?

        You bet
Collectors are going nuts for them right now. Been that way for a couple of years at least.

First bayonet is a 1st pattern tranny. Looks like someone has removed the blueing on the blade. Great seller and a really nice guy. Great frog!

The other bayonet is a 2nd pattern sawback that has been buffed (God, I hate that!!!). Looks like they even 'hit' the sawteeth.

Pardon my ignorance, but what do you mean by tranny and the blueing? I'm assuming transitional of some sort.

              No excuse me
The first bayo looks like a 2nd pattern without flashguard. My mistake. It does look to me like the blade was blued, maybe its Ken,s pictures.

              Cheers

I did notice, although its hard to see, that it appears there wasn't a flash guard on the first one.

Since I'll probably ever only own one German bayonet for my collection, I'll probably just hold out until I find a nice sawback.
