Here is a Bavarian Sanitäter cap. This is the M08 variety and once had a visor. This was the normal issue for medical enlisted personnel.

Beautiful cap Chip. You rarely find them in that condition anymore. Is that the version of the Bavarian cockade introduced in 1918?

That cockade was instituted in a Bavarian decree of March 31st, 1916, but the Probe pieces were not submitted until October of that year. From this point on, the split brad type cockade would have been used on all newly made enlisted rank caps (theoretically).
