    Bread Bag Strap?

    Guys i,m looking for a WW1 German Bread Bag Strap & came across this one, do you think its a genuine WW1 or ?

    The material aside, the buckle hardware dosent look period to me.
    Is the hardware ally? What a strange strap. The Gents may have more info.

      Eric, should the hardware be steel?, looks like Aluminium hardware on this strap.

              Here are the clip ends of two early war examples. These are both in red/brown canvas. The one on the left is the normal infantry style and the one on the right is the version for the navy breadbag. Both have brass rivets. Steel rivets came as the war progressed. Anything with aluminum is postwar.

                    Here,s another pic of me latewar rig. The cup should be carried in the breadbag. It erks me when I see it on mannequins clipped to the canteen. Reenactors do it, going clanky clank!
