    Y Straps on IMA-USA

Are these for real? They look unlike most Y straps you see.

WW1 period German Y-straps are basically the same design as WW2 "cavalry" straps, (i.e. the version without the auxiliary straps and vertical d rings). These were issued to mounted troops, but period pictures show that they were widely used by Stosstruppen, such as the Sturmbataillon Rohr soldier pictured here in Sept. 1916 .

            Nice Hans
AGM had a set for sale yesterday missing the front lower end tabs. Thanks for showing.

Yeah. Saw them. If I didn't have this set I would have bought them. They were also 1915 dated.

                Hello Hans
Are they still available? Everything I went for had gone apart for the blanket.
I really wanted the underwear set.

Eric, they were gone when I checked earlier today.

Was there another pattern other than the pair shown in post #5?
The reason I asked is that I saw a pair that a Texas collector had a few years ago that he described as German WWI Y-straps and they had a couple of the features of the pair shown in the first post.
These had hardware totally different than the ones in post #5.
                    Sorry but I didn't get a pic.

The ones Hans has shown are the only pattern that I know of (German WWI, that is). I've had three sets over the years. Most I have seen were reissued to the Reichswehr and have markings from that period in addition to the WWI marks. Both of my current examples are dated 1915 and one is marked to a Kürassier regiment.
