How about a shot of the crotch? I do not know if it is true, but I have been told, and seen some evidence, that the originals have a dart in the crotch that reproductions usually omit. Can you give an opinion on this idea Chip?

I brought the tunic and pants into work to check on our mega blacklight machine.
Both the tunic and pants dont glow, anywhere.

The pants do have a white butt crack liner on the inside, they dont have that grey cloth dart.

I am hoping that Chip will have an opinion on the butt dart thing, I only encountered that feature when I picked up a couple of pairs of trousers a couple of years ago at SOS

While a dart in the crotch does not sound too appealing , I did look at my examples for some feature like this. Both pairs of my red piped trousers had them, but my 1917 dated Stiefelhosen did not. My Reithosen are packed away, so I will have to take a look at them later.
