A very pronounced German Helmet. Questions.

I see this type of helmet every so offten, has anyone noticed this type of helmet with very pronounced or almost exaggerated fetures?

What's with this one? Is it a special maker? I like the look but none of my helmets looks like this one.

Well, this particular one was made by Gebrüder Bing (a toy-maker) out of Nürnberg so, in theory, all Gebrüder Bing helmets should look like this. I'm not sure if that answers your question.

It has the flat, elongated brim and shallow transition/dip typical of Bing made helmets. The crease around the shell is very pronounced on this one, and that does appear with one or two other makers as well occasionally. So my guess would be it's a G.B.N. 64. Some Bellinger helmets also have a very long brim, but the transition is steeper on these.

My Bing helmet doesn't have quite the same pronounced features as other examples from this maker, but here it is for comparison.

So those fetures are for one or two makes then. I think they are the best looking German helmets. I need to pick one up. I should have bid.

Actually William, what you see in the eBay helmet is very much a Bing look, and this is the reason why this maker is very popular with many collectors. Even though I pointed out that some of these characteristics may show up in other helmets in one form or the other, they're not like Bings.

Actually I had one once but it was a faked camo so I sent it back. Think it had a crack they seller did not disclose too. But I have get me a good one someday.
