Hello I have been searching around and I haven't found this insignia. What is it and should it be on this type visor? Thanks for any help. Kirby

A field grey infantry officer cap (Mecklenburg) ww1.
Between the cockades sometimes tradition badges were worn on Imperial caps.
But the golden badge? No idea. Looks like a coat of arms badge....?Last edited by Sergeant 08; 12-03-2010, 07:20 AM.

If it was Mecklenburg would,nt it typicaly would have a bull and griffin? Almost has a Hamburg look about it except the lions are facing inward. The 'eye in the palm' is used sometimes by fortune tellers, that along with the hearts and rough finish, it could be a souvenir charm? Just guessing.
