Hi Everyone,
Here's an absolute real German Stirnpanzer (Browplate) for the M16 Helmet. It's maker marked (Bell?) symbol on the inside. It resides in a sleepy little museum here in the midwest (where it is not going to be sold). Unfortunately the leather strap is long gone on it, and not much of the original paint remains on the metal. There's traces of a large "X" on the frontside, remnants of old scotch tape from an ancient museum label which is now absent. Take a look and see what you think.
I was fortunate to examine it this past Friday afternoon, as well as get a better look at some of the other Imperial German treasures that reside in this venerable old institution, and shoot pics of other items as well.
I will add pics of other items later on, probably in a different thread.
