    WW1 Uniform - Austrian or ?

    Hello,
Anyone have any idea what this uniform is? I mainly collect WW2 German, but this doesn't look like any WW1 German model that I know of. I can't see where it had any insignia and the buttons are obviously replaced civilian types. The flap on one of the lower pockets is slightly mismatched colorwise but matches in construction. Any ideas?
    Thank you,
    Dale

This WAS a german M/15 tunic, before changed in a civil version after the war.
            The marks means "R eserve J äger B atallion A rmeekorps G arde" 1915.

Thank you, I see now what you mean about it originally being a M1915 tunic.

The marking actually means, "Kriegs-Bekleidungsamt Garde (Korps)". K.B.A.G.

I was going to say, I don't see a "J" in there. No big deal though, we all make mistakes. Interesting coat.

I would agree with a post war modifcation. it appears that the owner wanted to use it as his civilian clothing and "de-militarized" it. I am sure after the war cloths were hard to come by.
