Very nice honest example IMO. I think it was Chip who said that the majority of the Gardedivision helmets he has seen were Bell L maker marked, and it looks like this is yet another one.

I think the consensus is that the numbers which were often painted on these helmets designated the company, not the regiment.

But I,ve never been a big fan of the high location of the insignia on some of these helmets. I guess it would make sense for the browplate. Maybe.
