It looks like an original M16 to me.The only thing that is a little strange is the rivet that holds the liner in is a completly different color,if it was painted at the same time as the helmet why would it be that way?

I don't quite like it. The inside looks black? And the camo paint doesn't look good to me. IMO not for me

I like what I see so far... can you post better pics of the camo paint in natural light?

The helmet and liner look fine to me, although the liner pins look like they've been removed. The helmet is made by the firm R. Lindenberg.

Inside is just the fieldgrey finish darkened with age and handling. Looks fine to me also. Nice camo

In my experience and to my eye that is a classic WWI combat German painted camo...one that was proabably worn good bit in the war. Colors are very much what I look for in these....although other patterns and colors are also just as original.

Rivet color might just be just the lighting...doesn;t look like new painted to me, seems old, and i would take a chance if i were you, and i wanted one. Lots of times they wrote names in pencil inside, looks like it might have had a name in it at one time. Thats why i never clean em inside , you can inadvertantly remove stuff you might not have noticed . i like the lug wear also.

I agree... you can actually see the original green camo paint on the one and only rivet pictured. The air-vent lugs are the rounded shape of a Bell L64.

There is nothing wrong with it.
