I guess this is a name not a unit marking.

This one is in pretty nice condition, considering what it is. It shouldn't be too hard to find a Prussian cockade to replace the missing one. Also, I believe that the Reichskorkade should be on the right side, not the left.

Yes, a nice felt haube, thanks for sharing images!

MauserKar98k is correct: the national color cokarde should be worn on the wearer's right side of the helmet, and the Prussian cokarde will be worn on the wearer's left side of the helmet. Something that is easy to change, once you aquire an original Prussian kokarde to place on the helmet.

The visor/side of helmet splits are typical of what happens when a helmet is allowed to "sit" on its visors. One should take care to display it so that it doesn't rest on the visors. In other words, use a tall water glass, wine goblet, old woolen mill yarn spindle, etc. in order to get the weight of the helmet off of the visors so that it won't cause any more splitting damage.

Oftentimes with the leather helmets one will see that the visor stitching thread has broken because of the weight of the helmet sitting on the visors for display over the decades.

              All the Best,

                Great find!
That is one of the nicest felts I have seen in a long time.
                Congrats!
