    Metal Picklehaub Help....

Hi Guys, I got this all metal Bavarian Picklehaub, looks like it had chinscales at one time, maybe NCO?
I heard these were made just in the year 1917, i do not know if this is true or not, so any help, information would greatly be appreciated.
It's not dented at all, liner is intact, are these desirable?
    Thanks Again,
    Regards,
    Gary

Gary, the prototype of this helmet was send to the Kriegsministerium in 1914 by the company Gebr. Bing Nürnberg. Most of them are produced in 1915.
The history of this helmet type, you can indeed find at Tony's site. He explains everything very well.
Here you have some pics of this prototype. As you can see, there are no stamps inside, but the sealed cardboard label tells it all...

                Adler 1

PS: sorry for the (bad) old pics, but I've no better ones at the moment...

Thank You all, so if the company Bing made these with the same liner
attatchment, does that go for officers also?
Would my example be an officers or nco?
And if these were made mostly in 1915, any idea how many were made?
My last question, i know we don't like talking about is...value?
My Compliments on your site Tony
                  Regards,
                  Gary

                      Hello,

Bing was a Bavarian manufacturer of toys in sheet steel before the war in Nuremberg.
With the war, it was necessary to change production and he began producing mess tins, helmets, rucksack, trommel magazin for p 08...etc

Pictures of mine, the same of course....

But there are also the other models of helmets in sheet steel, made from 1914....the same than Juoneen

                      And a other models

                      regards

                      david
