I do believe all Irish liners were leather. The Irish used the helmets in peace time there was no leather shortages. The Germans would have kept using leather had it not been a critical war material in short supply.

Not much you can do with the buyer ebay sides with them. I am sure the buyer knows the liner is German he just wants out of the deal.

You can try and offer him a partial refund, I would not offer more then 50 bucks or take the helmet back and make sure he pays the shipping.

Yea. I did some studying and it looks nothing like an Irish replacement like a lot of the on eBay do. Well i guess its time to re list it.

OFFER it on WAF?? You'd save well over 25 dollars in PP and Ebay fees.

          Buyers being foolish
Nice honest helmet with wartime replaced right lug. Looks like the Doughboy or Tommy was called 'Dillon' that,s where the buyer was confused IMO.

The liner is a good german.

The Irish liner are rarer than German, and like it was said by PlaceOfBayonets, the irish liner are in leather.

and with an irish marks :

the buyer is to much anxious, or he wants to win money back

That is not an Irish liner.

Here are some shots of Irish liners in Irish helmets that are not in the best of condition, but original none the less.
