I'm watching this ebay auction,what's the opinion of the WAF
specialists??? Good Boots ???

And is this "kgl. sächsische signet" OK,and what does it mean,was it a check
signet for experimental boots or something like that or how the seller
write in description a signet for a sample of the "kgl. sächsischen war ministry"???

And what would be the actual price for a collectors piece like that???

They are what they say they are. Probe pieces. If you notice the soles, they are not the typical WWI pattern. These are the precursors to the WWI boots. A rare thing to be sure, but not even close to WWI as far as when they were made.

They are superb. The best example of pre standard issue WW1 boots I,ve ever seen. Thanks for showing. I love the cord and the remains of the department seal. They will appeal to collecting purists.
It begs the question: What do you prefer? Nice condition collectables that were issued and saw service, or pieces that never touched any mud?

I would say after I had so many salty up to extremely salty WW1 boots in my
collection I would be very interested in some absolutely mint unused WW1
boots,especially the saxony WW1 one,they had a special cut I like very much!

What would you say is the appr. actual collectors price for this ebay boots,
so that I can prepare to bid a price what is not too high???

Any thoughts,what is the "real value" of this boots???

Who knows? Set your limit and bid.
Was there a 'Special cut' for Saxon Infantry boots.? I,ve seen them before
without the reinforced uppers. But I dont think its particular to Saxon?

I have a pair of Saxon boots marked to the XII.A.K. and dated 1916. They are just normal boots. No special flap at the top or anything else.

me i have a pair of saxon's boots, but they have the special "saxon flap" at the top...it's from the BA XIX and dated 1915





After, the boots on ebay???? they have something i don't like, they are not like normal boots, they have too much differences, they don't have the normal cut!

But maybe it's because it's probe boots!

There was a pair of those boots for sale on ebay.de not long ago.
Now I know why the bidding was so high. Not mint like yours , I thought the extra flap of leather was a repair of some sort.
Interesting topic field boots, strange it,s not discussed more on a Uniform thread.

Hello eric,

Of course it's saxon's boots but i think that all the saxons didn't wear some "saxon's boots", they wear normal boots. I also know a friend of me who has "saxon's shoes", with the leather flap........

You also can note the ersatz sling on the G 98, it's a "saxon's ersatz sling"

Its true - and I can only warn all members to deal with this guy, he is well known in germany, and some surrounding countries.

Also this is is second membership, he was kicked out from the forum, as he had tried in the past to cheat a member (selling fakes by using fotos of original stuff, stolen from me).
