Sailor hat Kreuzer Emden

Hello gentlemen,
I got this nice hat lately which was accompanied by docs suggesting the guy had been in the east asian exp. corps around 1901.Now I know there were several ships called Kreuzer Königsberg one of which around WWI....could it be from that time frame?

An Imperial cap would have the lettering SMS (= Seiner Majestät Schiff) before the name of the ship.

Later after ww1 in the Reichsmarine the caps had not longer the SMS lettering. But your cap looks not like a military cap.

A tailor made civil cap from the 30s, I think.

My foto is dated 1924 on the back - so this would match the period of this cap.
