    Jesus wept.....!!!

Ugly in the extreme....and he has six of them, so he says....

What's a little scary is that the KBAG 1916 stamp isn't a bad attempt at the real thing -just as well the piece it's on is so obviously bad.

    All the best

    Paul.

At least some of us are a step ahead of him Eric. If we continue to expose these __________ for what they are maybe we can save someone from parting with his/her hard earned $$$$$.

If you think about it, a real period piece would never have a BA stamp. The only official model was the white one. Gray examples would never have been issued by Bekleidungsamter. Any markings would be on a regimental level, if there were any markings at all.

            Chip is spot on
Here,s a sample pictured in Kraus,s book. My old example was maker stamped and dated 17 in grey cloth, but as Chip points out only White ones should have a BA stamp. I,ve heard garment makers supplied them and also Womens Leagues like a 'cottage industry' (Heimindustrie?), doing their bit for the war effort, as well as troops and regiments told to make their own. There are so many diverse patterns each one that shows up has to be judged on its own merits.
