    Pickelhaube Cover Opinion

Hello, this cover looks good to me, but since I've never handled a real one before I would like to get an expert opinion - thank you.

Personally, I like the cover and believe it to be a good one. Not completely sold on the numbers. These look hand sewn and the stitching I am accustomed to seeing is different than the ones on yours. Some were hand sewn though I believe. The wear looks nice on them and underneath them looks cleaner which is a good sign, just not sold 100% yet. Mike.

Can you get a better picture of the inside of the cover where the numbers are sewn?

Thanks 1corps - Here's a picture from behind the numbers.

It looks good to me too. I have a grouping of original numbers that I got in Germany many years ago. About half of them have a paper backing. I think it just made it easier to sew them on.

I can see nothing that is wrong with this one. It's a keeper!

A fine helmet cover it is!

Thanks for the inside view. I like the look of the numbers better this morning and the inside view confirms my thumbs up! Congrats! Mike.

I was going to say that if they can fake the stitching age and fabric embedding like that (at least how the photos make it appear) then its time that I bail from this hobby!
