    Chinstrap??

    Hi guys could you please give me your opinions as to Authenticity of this chinstrap, which i think is genuine a ww1 strap but not 100% sure?.

                Scott,

                These are normally found on the M1895 Pickelhaube, however; I have seen them placed on steel helmets.

                The black side of yours seems really shiny for its age... does it appear to have been refinished or treated?

                  Thanks for your reply Chuck, the back doesnt seem to be treated or refinished, its just in really good condition for its age & doesnt look to have been used much
