    Restoration dunkelblau project?

I picked up this dunkelblau Waffenrock on German e-bay a while back ago. It is rough as a cob with no hint as to what unit to which it belongs. There is no piping on the Brandenburg cuffs. One vertical panel on the left cuff appears to have been repaired by hand. The vertical panels are faded more than the rest of the cuff. However, the vertical panel on the right cuff is machine stitched and does not go through the lining.

Further, there is no embroidery on the Schulterklappen or a hint as to what may have been there. The Taillenknöpfe is the back had been removed and replaced with a standard brass button. Any ideas or comments?

The collar is rounded at the corners, so Litzen had never been applied.

Postservice Tunic, see Stamp. "Post Fuhr Amt" Tunic was from a Postlorrydriver. But nothing is correct. The other stamp is a ownerstamp from a Theatre of Berlin. Maybe in this Theather the Tunic will be turned of to militarystyle. Collar, cuff and Shoulderstraps are changed. Also all the Buttons.
The best posiblity: hold it so in this condition as it is just.

Thank you for your insight. I had my suspicions, but seemed to well made for theater use. A conversion make sense. Good thing it was cheap.

But why leave it as is?
