I don't follow you Robb what do you mean? The Seller name does ring a bell but can't place it.

        William,
Iam confused, I,ve never seen or heard of a repop size 60.
Why would the seller throw that in? Maybe because in Baer,s book it only mentions 62/64,s?

The photos are without doubt of an original ET60 square dip. Look at photos of two of mine on GHW forum, pinned under user "feldgrau1418".

Whether the winning bidder will actually receive this helmet, and why the vendor would use such a problematical venue as ebay to market it are questions to consider. Long ago I ceased dealing with Brit military sellers for I found them almost entirely a dishonest lot. "Caveat Emptor".

Ah, Eric, you rightly call me to task for thoughtlessness. Like the ill fated Prince of Denmark ". . I have shot mine arrow o'er the house
                And hurt my brother".

Like old habits, old grudges die hard as well, and some thoughts are better left unsaid. At least I didn't say "ALL Brit military sellers". And I certainly didn't intend that to apply ubiquitously, as my Brit relatives would certainly disown me, and my ancestors make thunder in the heavens.

Very rough. I consider it a shell as to the loss of paint. I think it sold way over priced. Glad I did not win it at that cost.

                      William,
Call me a stupid fool but I went to $1500 and got beat. I know it was as rough as old boots but might not get another chance on one.

In the 5 years I have been collecting German WWI helmets I have seen at least three of them offered for sale at various venues. I found a really nice Camo size 64 on German Helmets inc. but could not swing the cash at the time nor could I at this time. They cost out the @** in any condition so might as well spend the money and not have to look back. I'll wait for the right time and helmet or die someday never having owned one.

                          Thank you William,
I,ve been looking a long time for one as well. Allways hear about it after the fact though. I was sure it was mine at that price! I,d like to find one plain fieldgrey with a decent liner, but its tough.
I think maybe I undid myself when I asked him to weigh it for me and he posted it in the add. Repros tend to be on the light side.

That is the silliest price I have seen, a rusty helmet for over £1000 absolutely insane . Rob

Well I have a tactic I use to win what I must. Email me if you want the secret.

As for the Square dip that was on German Helmets inc. It sat on there for about 5 or 6 days and I kept wishing someone would take it down before I did something stupid. I checked in three times a day!

In the end I contacted Ken and asked about payment plans. I could not swing the plan nor did I think I could sell off items fast enough to commit to a deal. Ken even send me a final email asking if I wanted to take it or not and I had to let it go.

So I had one right in my sights, a pretty nice one though not complete but it was 2700.00 dollars. My fav size, a 64
