I have seen buttons that are very similar to those on old Swiss military trousers.

David (La Mitraille) is absolutely right on concerning the hosen in question. To someone such as he who has been able to examine original pieces, the differences are readily apparent. But, for the newer collectors and even some experienced ones these can be a problem. These trousers and others like them, such as the so-called M-18 trousers in another thread on this forum are pure forgeries or fantasy pieces, and attention should be given to them so that collectors don't fall prey to being taken in. At best, they are worth a couple hundred $ US as display replicas, and my sympathies go to people who bought them thinking they are original and paid the high prices that originals go for. Caveat Emptor!
Thank you, Eric for starting this thread, and to David for his wise commentary.
Let's hope that other collectors will pick this thread up for their benefit.

Sounds good to me. Here's the link to the "M-18 pants" thread: http://dev.wehrmacht-awards.com/foru...=1#post3815497
Best Wishes,

I owe a big thank you to David, Robert and all the Forum members including the dealer (he was completely fooled by these trousers) I was about to store them in my collection. They look so good, I would never have given it a second thought untill a private message made me feel uneasy.
We all have to be so careful especially with the cost nowadays of collecting fieldgrey.
If it doesnt feel right it never is!
Eric.
