Guys whats your opinions on the mess tin which is marked Silesi 8 17 or B 17? is this a ww1 period tin? sorry for the bad photos but there all i have from the seller.

Your good. Its an M17. The lip inside the rim is for the 'spork'. A good general rule on this late style (also made in aluminum) No date not WW1.
