    M18 Camo

Hello This helmet was in a collection I purchased. I am 100% sure the helmet is original but is there any way the paint job could be period? The paint looks to vivid . You might notice the paint has chipped off around four small holes that were drilled in the front back and each side. I think it was used as a lamp shade. I am going to move this one and want to be accurate when I describe it so thank for any information or opinions. Kirby

The interior condition is worse than the exterior.

The shell is an original Bell L 64, but, the camo is post war painted.

              klr,
It reminds me of an early battlefield pickup. Is there anyway you can strip it and sell as a nice relic?

Hello That was the answer I thought I would get. I thinks I will try to sell it as is with a post WWI paint job. Thanks Kirby

Agree with Chuck. Whoa! That one is an M18 Too bad it got all jacked up. I am not sure about a lamp shade. I've heard Gi's used them as a cooking pot when holes were drilled in such a manner. Might be the reason the inside looks so horrid.
