When everyone gets into Imperial Collecting :(

Look at the price on this one. It's a nice camo sure. It's a 68 a little rare but no chin strap and only a liner band. It's more or less a comman M16

I so need to replace my current size 68 with a nicer one since mine has a crack that bothers me. But at those prices I'll never be able to.

    W.,

It might have something to do with the fact that the seller states this was picked up by a "Named" U.S. Marine assigned to 1st Battalion, 5th Marines, 4th Marine Brigade, 2nd Division (A.E.F.). I sure hope the documentation is credible. Brian Manifor sold one like this a few months ago with the same results.

That was the most I've ever seen a shell sell for.

Well, I can't imagine paying several hundreds of Dollars extra just for a piece of paper with a few lines penciled on it.

IMHO original German WW1 camos have been hugely underpriced when compared to WW2 camos (A minefield full of fakes).

However the pendulum has swung to much the other way at present.

Maybe they were underpriced for a long time, but this one is hugely overpriced IMO...

I think it's a trend that is going to continue I sure don't want to be priced out of the market completly.

Wait four years for the centennial in 2014, the prices will go through the roof. If you can afford the investment and your health holds out for four years it should be a great time to cash-in.

Cashing in ugg! People like us who care about history buy the stuff. The 100th year comes and every johnny come latley wants a piece of the action and we sell to them? So they can what? Get board with it after a few years?

I am keeping all I buy.

Do you really think so? I am guessing we collectors are all about the same age and when we throw our cards in the collecting market will be flooded. I hope not, its allways difficult to know when to let go of nice stuff.

                      Eric.

I guess it's time when you have had something long enough and realize it was only temporarily yours anyway. .....I haven't reached that point yet!
