Appears to be a chinstrap. Searched for the markings - zip.

    Any guidance?

    Thanx,

Looks new to me but chin straps are not my strength. Got any more pics of the carbine clip/stitching?

Just my input as an amateur when it comes to chin straps. I think the stiching it way too white and new looking. M18 chin straps in good condition rarly make it to the open market. If you do verify it as original and want to sell it I really need one.

I agree. It looks pristine to be anything but a reproduction.

Anyone familiar with the marker mark (I'm assuming) that it's stamped with?

I think you have a reproduction Rick... Here are some pictures of an original made by Beuster. The stitching, the strap itself, but also the stamp is different from the one you are showing ...

I see what you mean about the stamp. Also the general configuration (on mine) seems a bit different than yours. Your buckle seems right next to the brass clip.

Oh well, To Estand it goes.

Any guess on what might be a 'fair' asking price for something like this?

I think the new ones retail for $25-$30? Just an estimate.

Another tip is that they misspelled Brandenburg!

Any thoughts on this? I see the rivets are,nt the usual and the date?? 1917.
                        But the hardware looks old.

Eric, I have a little concern on yours. A lot of reproduction straps came out in the 80's with that particular maker. I have one I bought sometime back as original that turned out to be a repro. I fear this could be the same fate for yours. I hope I am wrong. Mike.
