Any idea what this eagle is for? A pal of mine said it was for a WWII German hat or helmet... I have my doubts, what do y'all think?

Skip, your friend is mistaken. No idea what it is, but I am quite sure it has never even been in Germany.

Looks like costume jewelry to me. Although it is large . Might be worth 5.00 . Pin style is not german, catch may be. I agree....not german military, but a nice pin if you are into eagles. May be patriotic.
