These 2 belt buckles, and some other items were my first purchase of the new year. I do not really collect German items, but these came in the lot. I believe the one with the crown is a WWI Army Enlisted belt buckle (correct me if I am wrong). I'm not sure what the second buckle is, maybe someone on the forum knows. Any idea of an approximate value of these?

I've seen the bottom buckle once or twice over the years, but it is not the standard Bavarian army buckle.
My question is: Who specifically used this buckle that has a Bavarian Wappen on the front? The army used the round center disk w/crown in center surrounded by "Im Treue Fest" wording on it. Was this buckle shown here used by Bavarian Police or Customs?
Thanks for anyone who has the correct ID on this buckle.
Best Regards,
Alan Schaefer

Thanks for the ID on the Bavarian Buckle. How were you able to ID it? Is there a picture of one in a reference book? I searched the internet to find a pic of another one, but wasnt able to. I also wasnt able to find anything on the internet about the Bavarian Grenzpolizie. What part did the play in WWI?
