A camo I once owned for an inspection period that Chuck saved me form keeping

This dirty rat came form England. A waf member bought it from me with a warning of it's questionable origins.

Looked good but in the end I knew it was a mock up. This is an example where a painter blends real age with new paint. It also probably came to be aged since it's re paint in the 70's.

Ok W,
This is a test. What do you think of this helmet currently on ebay?
Strange liner! m16 inside a M17 liner band. That apart, what do you think of the paint?

Need better photos of the paint. As for the liner it's plausable. There are examples where German Soldier's have lined the metal band with leather. The Assumption is the M16 liners were more plush and as such more desirable. The lining of the metal band with leather was an attempt at making the liner more comfortable and probably was a concern during the winter.

The Steel liner band looks ok. The M16 liner? Can't see much of it.

I dont know William, Iam usually a pretty good judge. its so clean maybe its been touched up?
I asked the guy to send me some close pictures but just got the one,s in the add.
I dont like the spotting on the paint, looks like the paint didnt take maybe because of oil or grease.

I just noticed something else. Looks like it was 'clamped' both sides and on the rear apron.

You're not considering a purchase are you? I can smell the fresh paint from here. With all those nice camos you recently let go of you should be able to spot this a mile away.

Nor have I. I couldn't imagine what the person was thinking when they created that mess. The three pads are already attached to the thick leather liner band. Why would you remove the metal liner band and attach the leather liner to it? A better fit? The more I look at the leather liner system the less I like it also... leather looks pretty fresh.

It's BAD inside and out. I thought it was a trick question so I did not rush to judgement. The Liner band might be good but nothing else.
