    unit mark

The unit mark 124. R. is for the Prussian 124th Infantry Regiment which was the 6th Wurttemberg originally. The name of the unit is Infantrie-Regiment Konig Wilhelm I [6th Wurttembergisches] Nr 124 and was originally formed in June 1673 and headquartered at Weingarten and was part of the XIII Army Corps. I believe that the other unit mark is for the Wurttemberg Landwehr Battalion at Gmund. Hopefully someone else will comment on this.

Just to be clear, the 124.IR was not a Prussian unit. It was, like all other infantry regiments, with the exception of the Bavarians, counted in the numbering system of the Reich.
