Brunswick Cap Skull, Gibraltar Cuff-Title, Period Photo Display!

All these 3 items came during last weeks. I thought it would be a nice display to show the items together. Notice, the soldier on the period photo wore both tradition items, the Braunschweig issued cap skull and the Gibraltar cuff title.

                    Stefan,

It's also interesting that he is not wearing any shoulder straps. The insignia are indeed a curious combination.

                      wow. great!

So, a studio shot...he is convalescing. Photo with his friend....what is on his upper right sleeve? Is there something, or is it the scan?

AND you have the cap skull and Gibraltar cuff-title. Nice pick-up.

The photo was a postcard written to a family member of the soldier on the left (13.10.1915). You can see, he was wounded and the postcard has a military hospital stamp: Station Garnisonslazarett Wolfenbuettel (it is in Niedersachsen). It seems he was a Jaeger, because he ended the postcard with: ……Euer Jaeger Ernst Buettner.

I think he came from the Brunswick IR92 to the Goslarer Jaeger and now he wore both: Brunswick skull and Gibraltar cuff title!

I did not notice the patch on the arm of his friend. What is it? Flag bearer?

Most likely, it is a Winker specialty patch.

These are good news! To complete the display I think it is easier to get a Winker patch than one for a flag bearer
