Hi,
it seems you have a Bavarian helmet wappen there. Only... the crown on top of the shield is missing. The loops for fixation of the plate seem to be missing also...
The wappen should look more like this:

Hope you can do something with it...

Thanks for letting me see a completed one. I have a Prussian Haube which is a nightmare to keep and so I found this Bavarian plate for sale, even though it is missing the crown and the loops to help hold the plate to the front of the Pickelhaube. I think it is a nice design.

Pickelhaube restoration tip?

I have tried posting questions on how other members treat their leather Pickelhaubes and such. I have not wanted to apply any moisturizer with out checking and getting a good response from other members in the forums.
If anyone has a suggestion, I am very happy to hear what your recommendation is.
