Weitze Colonial Naval visor??

Does anyone have a period photo of this type of visor. I can't find one and the mere fact of having a replaced chinstrap and buttons that are clearly not visor cap buttons raises cause for concern. The badge I can say with complete certainty is real but other than that I have no earthly idea what it represents.
