For issued Mütze, yes. But for all private purchased examples, the Kokarde with prongs on the back would be correct.

My cap was issued, it has a marking inside and the typical stitches for the rare Navy Kokarde. Tony, do you mean it existed white private purchased "Waschmuetzen" with Kokarden with prongs?

Though I may not have said it clearly, I was talking about the Kokarde for the issue Wachtuchmützen. I believe that all other enlisted caps (both issue blue ones and private purchase examples) took the prong backed Kokarden.
