    Imperial buckles !

    Here is my first Imperial buckle from Mecklenburg!

    If you have other amazing Imperial buckles, please show us!

    I'm sure a lot of beautiful Imperial items are in collections out there

      Yes, it looks like steel but it is brass. It was nearly 100 years in ground.

          Here is one of mine that I think is interesting because the original paint is black, not feldgrau. It's a Bavarian M16 with original leather tab.

            Here is another interesting wartime phenomenon....feldgrau baked-on paint over a brass buckle.

              The Prussia buckle is nice . The phenomenon of unusual painted buckles was to find in ww2 too. I've seen a lot of pre war buckles that got feldgrau paint (and other colours) and they were used during the war.

                      Jesse,

                      The Saxon buckles with the regimental markings are getting quite expensive. I got this one many years ago (for $28.00)
