    Imperial Group

Hello these items are in a collection i'm buying. It looks like the shoulder strap and the Dog tag are from the same unit. Would the machine gun patch go with the other items? They were all in the same riker mound. Thanks Kirby

I can't say if the machine gun insignia goes with the strap, but IMHO the dog tag is from the WW2 era. The tags from WW1 era almost always have the guy's full name, address at time of induction and birthdate as well as the unit. The unit designation looks like how they were stamped in WW2.

Hello Thanks for the info on the dog tag. I've never had an imperial one. They have to be more interesting having the name and other personal info. Thanks Kirby

John is correct, this is not a WWI era Erkennungsmarke. It is possible that the strap and the MGSSA badge could have been from the same person, as eventually, anyone who completed the advanced MG training course could have worn it. Chances are just as likely that they have no association at all.
