Movie used uniform on ebay

I heard that all the gear used in the movie were original due to the fact so much of the stuff was all over the place after the war. I don't know however.

What are the odds this one was used in the movie and not been mis represented?

It looks good, I got a Civil War Frock that was saved by a theater Co. back when they were 50 cents, it was cheaper than making new ones

I saw that listing too- unfortunately, it is a post-war remake as opposed to an original...

I saw this, too. This is the second time it's been listed, the first about a month ago when it sold for $755. I don't know why it's back on. Maybe the original buyer bought it thinking it was a good piece, then when they saw it wasn't, concocted a story to return it.

To me, (not even considering the lining ) the cloth of the tunic is a give away, with that loose weave typical of a lot of Hollywood made tunics.

Still, I like it because it was used in the original "All Quiet on the Western Front", my favorite war movie of all time. I did look up the name H. Ritz which is written in the tunic and hat, and came up with Harry Ritz, who actually was an actor in the 1930s and later. However, his filmography doesn't include "All Quiet on the Western Front."

If I was a little more flush right now, I'd consider buying it.
