Just picked this up.I collect TR;so don't know too much about Imperial items. This is in really good cond. The leather looks great for being over 100 years old. This the 1915 model for a EM.Is that correct?

Dan, a few more photos would help. The front visor trim is pre-war brass but the spike top and plate are the later 1915 grey metal. By the look of the spike top plate it could be a replacement, Not sure. The chinstrap looks original which is a major plus. What is the rear spine, brass or grey metal? Also, are there leather wedges holding the front plate on? A picture of the liner would be nice also if you can. Mike.

Sorry, you were still posting. The rear spine being brass makes me believe it is a pre-war helmet with replaced front plate & spike top from the photos. The pins look good holdong on the spike base so it could be a period replacement. I think you have a nice piece!! Mike.

MIKE-Thanks for the info. There are leather wedges holding on the front plate. The only markings are 55.This is the size;I guess?

The unit and depot info on the rear visor has been blacked out , obviously during war time, this confirms that it is a pre war helmet that was refurbished and reissued. I own a couple like that. It is a good honest representative transitional piece. Nice find.
