Best Place for Imperial Head gear

What is the best sites for purchasing Imperial Head Gear. The prices at the collectors guild are a little high to me. I see a lot of put togethers on ebay. What are some good imperial sites that sell quality stuff?

Good luck with that. This stuff is hard to find and still financially within reach. Have to put in a plug for ebay when it comes to imperial headgear. eBay.de in particular

      Justin,

I am a big fan of Randy and Remy at http://ageofkingsmilitaria.com/index.html

They don't do this professionally, but I would trust Randy with my family. The best place is from other collectors, but my limited experience tells me that the best prices go along with with being a known entity. Hanging out at the pickelhaube's forum is a good idea, as well as attending SOS if possible.

Yeah I just found and registered for the pickelhaube forum. I was up till 1 am reading the post. Great great great site. I found out some interesting information on some Helms I was looking at on ebay that I have not noticed. Once again the wealth of information and the comradely of fellow collectors never ceases to amaze me.

First of all, let me say that I have not purchased anything from him, but having viewed his website many times over the years, along with handling his items at the MAX Show & SOS, I suggest you look at Helmut Weitze. He always has a very extensive collection of Imperial headgear for sale, although I won't pretend to say his prices are low. Saxonia Militaria in the UK has some very nice items on their site, with very fair prices, and a nice layaway plan. His selection is nowhere as large as Weitze, but still worth considering.
In the USA, Der Rittmeister has some nice stuff, but IMHO, his prices are insane, and every time I visit his site, the same items are for sale. Also, you can find some good items on German Ebay.

I away with the same thought on der rittermister. I have been looking at ebay germany. Is there a software tool I can use to translate the whole page at once?

Don't know about a software tool, but with my VERY sketchy German, I can usually identify what's for sale, along with the photos, of course. It's likely that the vast majority of caps on offer will be infantry, the most common arm of service.
Personally, I prefer the cavalry caps, by far the most colorful. Saxonia Militaria has a very good selection, and with the pound sterling weak against the dollar, his prices have actually dropped.

I forgot to mention Grenadier Military Antiques!: He has a nice collection of Imperial headgear for sale currently, at good prices; especially the Garde du Korps officer's schirmutze.
