    Pickelhaube

    Hello gentlemen
I'd like to show you a pickelhaube that I found in Paris a few years ago, hoping that it isn't a fake!!!
    What do you think about?

    Have a good day gentlemen!

It appears to be war time haub. The steel removable spike and other steel parts look to have been rusted and steel wool cleaned. I am pretty sure the chin strap is a modern replacement. It also has 2 prussian kockards on the chinstrap posts. It should have a national colors one on the right side of the helmet.
It is real it has been played with by some one that really doesn't know anything about picklehaubs.

        nice

Hi Marco, I agree with Bryan that the steel parts look like they have been polished with steel wool, which is too bad. The cockades look possibly original and I think the chinstrap has a chance of being original. It's a little hard to tell. If you can find a good national colors cockade to replace the duplicate Prussian cockade, then this would be a fairly nice, basically original piece. Congratulations and welcome to the Imperial militaria field!

        Regards,

        Mark D.

Thanks a lot Mr. Mark D.
There is something that I could do to recover the steel parts polished?

            leave it

There is really nothing that you can do to correct the polishing. I'd just leave it as it is. It displays nicely.

            Cheers,

            Mark D.
