    The paint is fine on that one. It's in fact a one looker. Just a glance and you know it's good. Price? About right but I'd prefer one with less decay to the paint.

            Hate to break to you but time, atmosphere and people have messed with that helmet in a big way. The fact that it's only a shell says it all.

              I rahter not put replica poarts on it and just leave the origiba shell and paitn as it is

                Yer call but they display so much better with the parts restored.
                In the case of this helmet I had the chin strap parts added to new leather. This keeps the chin strap parts from being lost from the helmet and does a service to history and future Generations. Your helmet has already lost one of them and you can ensure the last remaining one does not follow suit by doing something like this.

                  Camo size 68 I did the same thing with the chin strap. I have both metal attachments original to the helm. I collected a spare liner band that had never been crimped and added new liner pads. Some folks don't agree with this but the fact is it can all be un done. No harm no foul.
