I'm wondering about oryginality of this item. Could this string be WWI stuff?

Any idea about it? I've never seen this type of dog tag.

Your tag is an original early WW1 type sometimes refered to as a model 1878. The neck cord could also be original,but it is hard to tell from a picture. The unit mark appears to be Landwehr Infantrie Regiment 10, 2 Kompanie, stamm roll nr. 231.

The cord is modern and was added to the disk. The disk is well used and the cord still has the fuzz on it. If it had been with this disk all along it would be worn smooth and stained.
