Your thoughts on a ww1 helmet

This one is offered to me. I bought one recently wich turned to be repainted post war. So on this one, I wanted to hear your reactions.

Is that yellow paint along the front rim and around both vent lugs?

I don't really know if it's yellow paint, could be a bit of rust. I'll post better pictures when I recive the helmet.
