      That pig's black and white colour scheme matches Alvensleben's personnal Pfalz very well! What an incredible looking machine.
      This photo is in the book Pfalz Scout Aces of World War 1by Greg VanWyngarden. Does anyone have a copy of it? Prehaps we can get a better scan to see his face.

        Fabulous Ben. Great additional info on BvA. That Pfalz must have been a step down after flying Alb DVs and Tripes with Jasta 4. Steve

          That is one neat portrait, how big is it?. A bit sad it got the extra tear during transport.
          I guess you had to ship it in the frame? By experience i know that can be quite expensive.
          Please show us the result when you have had it refitted.

            Just got it back from the framing and I'm very pleased with it. It's 72cm x 58cm.
