All the German ones I've seen had a much longer neck piece.

The Masons and Knights of Columbus etc. had helmets in this form for ceremonies in the late 19th and early 20th century, it may be that as well hard to tell with it like it is.

It's not a Kurrasier lobster tail helmet. All that I have seen were under the visor black and under the tail they were some kind of light green.
